The wood club had there opening this wed. for their anual show in the Bates Gallery.

EUP Student Show

The Annual Edinboro Student Show Opened this week in the Bruce gallery. Although it was chilly outside It was quite hot in the gallery with all the people that turned out! Congradulations to all those eligible who were selected for awards, and to all thoes who didn't fit any of the categories keep fighting for equality!

3rd Annual Graphic Design Seinor Show

The graphic designers displayed their work this week in the Bates gallery, for their third annual Senior show. There was a good turn out at the opening and allot of people inside the gallery! but be warned, They were guarding against those who come for the food only! don't be mistaken for a scavenger like myself!

Rally

Edinboro Students gathered in protest to the state school budget cuts Thursday afternoon. The mass marched the campus, and then headed into town to let their voice be heard.

Ceramic Show

Chuck and Janelle left little to be desired in their display last week of functional pottery. A great turn out at the opening as well as a majority of SALES$$$$!

Gimitter Scolarship Show

The gimitter Scholarship juried Show was a display of the best and Brightest of the graduating art students from across the Edinboro Art Department. The recipent of the 2000 dollar scholarship prize was Chris Adelhard, a ceramic major. Congratulations to all participating artists.

Print Show!

Its Always nice to see the walls of the bates gallery covered from floor to ceiling! The print makers always put on a nice show and this was no exception. good turn out at the opening too!

Functional Pottery for Functional Alcoholics

The opening night of Functional Pottery for functional Alcoholics Was a Huge success! A great crowd turned out for the opening Wed. Feb. 16th (and Johns Pizza) filling the gallery and adjacent hallway to capacity. There were quite a few sales at this opening as well, which is a refreshing bonus to showing in the Bates gallery as well as incentive to display strong work.

Metals Club

HAVE YOU SEEN THE METALS SHOW?
The metals club hosted a great show in the bates this week. These works are a good cross section of the variety of work that comes out of the metals studio here at Edinboro. The timing couldn't be better with their valentines day sale directly following. If you like what you see you can view and purchase more at the sale!

Fibers Club

The Fibers club Filled the bates gallery this week a fresh burst of color! They were well recived by the student body with a great turn out at the opening. The show runs through Feb 4th.

Unless and Until

A collaborative project by Artists Julie Putgen, JS van Buskirk, James R. Carlson, and Matt Gilbert is on display in the Bruce Gallery Feb 2- 24. This exhibition is composed of mixed media illustrations accompanied by a short film. The playfull manner of the work and the intentions behind the creation of this project give it a unique character worth checking out.

Natural Appearences

The thematic show Natural appearences was on display in the Bates gallery this past week running from Jan. 22nd- 29th. Abby Bunnell's portraits and Matt Gray's interior photographs provided an interesting investigation of the subject, from two very different perspectives.
